This versatile octagonal ashtray has many uses if not using as an ashtray. It would make a great holder for a pillar candle, or set a small flowerpot on it, so water won’t get on your windowsill or wood tables. It would also make a wonderful G158 for a very versatile item. Fenton Glass Company began in 1905 by brothers Frank L. Fenton and John W. Fenton. In the beginning, they were mainly painting glass that was made by other glass companies. In 1907 Fenton began producing glass under the Fenton name. They were known for the Carnival glass which they created in 1907. By 1938 Fenton began making French Opalescent glass in the Hobnail pattern. By 1939 Fenton was selling and producing Hobnail items in milk glass. This became the Fenton Company’s top selling line. Fenton’s early pieces were not marked with a makers mark. Fenton began to place makers marks on items produced in 1974.

Condition: In good vintage condition. There are a few chips at two of the indentations for where cigarettes would be placed. There are some nicks and chips that are on the bottom of the octagonal corners. These marks do not take away from this item.
