Buy this wonderful bird figurine by Spaulding China Company. Spaulding China Company also produced their bird collection under the names of Royal Copley and Royal Windsor. This vintage bird is in a high gloss of vibrant colors of peach, black, and a spot of brown on its beak . The graceful lines of this bird figurine shows in every detail from the tail, wings, head, beak and perch. Birds kept the Spaulding China Company in business from 1939 to 1960 when the company closed. They produced high quality birds by top designers at low prices. Spaulding China Company had kilns that ran 24 hours a day, and produced about 6,000 birds in a day. They placed only the paper label on the birds, and the labels wear off or were taken off when the birds were purchased. The birds received a label that was either Spaulding China Company, Royal Copley or Royal Windsor. The birds that had the Royal Copley and Royal Windsor labels were sold in department stores. Spaulding China Company labeled birds were sold at dime stores. The same bird that had a Royal Copley or Royal Windsor label, might have a Spaulding label the next time out of production. Royal Copley and Royal Windsor were trade names created in 1939 by Spaulding China Company. They began production of Royal Copley and Royal Windsor in 1939. By 1942 Spaulding China Company was in full production in Sebring, Ohio. They produced products until 1960 when the plant closed.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No cracks, nicks, chips. There is a small spot of missed paint on the tip of the beak that appears to have occurred during production.
