Buy this Vintage U.S. Glass Clear Creamer. This U.S. Glass Creamer is simple and elegant in its design. This clear glass creamer has a single handle that carries the pattern of paneled glass. The body of this U.S. Glass creamer is defined by wide panels, that look like windows. This creamer has the U.S. Glass Company marking of a U over and S. I am unable to identify the pattern or age of this item. It is definitely no older than 1962. United States Glass Company (U.S. Glass), began in 1891. Many glass companies were struggling to stay in business at that time. 18 glass companies came together and formed a Conglomerate, which was then named U. S. Glass. This worked for awhile, but with the various factories located in many locations, the Conglomerate was in the process of falling apart. Communication back then was difficult and the company decided to open to factories to make their glass products. By the late 1800’s, U.S. Glass opened 2 factories. One was in Gas City, Indiana and one in Tiffen, Ohio. Pressed glass was made in the Indiana Factory through the 1930’s. The Ohio factory was where Blown Glass, Carnival Glass, and Amberina Glass was made. By 1940 all of the glass products were produced at the Tiffen, Ohio factory. All glass then was marked with the Tiffen label. They continued to produce glass at Tiffen Ohio until 1962, under the name of U.S. Glass Company.
